It’s been a brilliant year at Bonsai. Our big news for 2015 was the refurbishment of our Home showroom. It gave us the opportunity to introduce lots of new furniture and more exciting brands.

The polished concrete floor really set the scene for the new showroom, with its modern, contemporary look.

We then created five areas to showcase all of our favourite styles and the exclusive brands we have available, with a more ethnic and industrial zone, contrasting the sleeker, more contemporary office area.

We also introduced a new space, which we call our “showcase” area. Our intention is to redesign this section every few months, bringing in new designers, limited edition items or the work of young, new designers. This is also where shoppers can find some really unique and lovely accessories, perfect for gifts or adding the finishing touches to your home.

Bonsai's showroom in Guernsey

Mid summer saw Bonsai supporting Guernsey’s Skipton Arts festival and we exhibited the work of two local artists, Bridget Spinney and Frances Lemmon, in the Home showroom.

Alongside this we hosted an evening of drinks and art. This is something we are going to repeat towards the end of January 2016 for all of you art and design enthusiasts.

In the autumn we saw lots of Bonsai fans at the Homelife show at Beau Sejour and moved most of our showroom to the exhibition stand.

Here we launched our new flooring range - ‘Design Parquet’ and raised over £1,500 for the Bridge To charity via a silent auction for the gorgeous platinum floor which was on our stand.

To finish off the year, I have asked my Bonsai colleagues to look back and choose their favourite item from our Home collection.

Debbie loved our Heaven sofa so much she had to buy one for her own living room.

Kath made sure our Qlock Two Touch was on her Christmas list this year…but has she been naughty or nice?

Paul is a fan of the classic but contemporary furniture by Jess, a Dutch designer range.

I am still in love with the Vita Eos feather lights shades – they are simple yet stunning.

Garret was amused by our fake boars head, especially when we added some sunglasses.

Lee has had his eye on the multi-coloured bulldog statues all year.

Mat loves the simplicity and ethnic look of the petrified wood carved fish.

We have all enjoyed this year thoroughly. It’s been great seeing so many customers in the Bonsai showrooms and we look forward to inviting you to all the events planned for 2016.

Happy New Year from everyone at Bonsai!
